LIP BLUSH
WHAT IS LIP BLUSH
Lip blush is a semi-permanent makeup treatment that is a form of tattooing, which is also a natural-looking, long-lasting & more permanent version of lipstick or lip stain. Semi-permanent makeup is implanted under your skin into the dermal layer, with a machine, but not as deep as a regular tattoo. The benefits of semi-permanent makeup include saving money, by not having to buy makeup or having to apply it on a regular basis. The time it takes can be tiring. SPMU is great for those with poor vision or shaky hands, or anyone who struggles on a daily basis applying makeup.
This is not topical makeup that sits on the surface of your skin. It is implanted into the skin so many factors need to be considered. My goal is to achieve a natural-looking lip blush once healed. You, or I, do not want it to look false and “tattoo” noticeable, only enhancing your natural lips. I will always do a full consultation beforehand and will never start the procedure until you are 100% happy with the shape of your lip pre-draw, style and pigment colour we’ve chosen. I can create soft natural lips or bright bold lips, as well as help to correct any asymmetry by 0.5mm maximum from your lip line. I will not tattoo a bigger outline onto your skin that isn’t your lips, as you will have extremely poor healed results and migration. Keep it subtle and enhance what you’ve naturally got!
FAQS
Lip blush lasts anywhere between 2-5 years before it starts to fade and you need a colour boost, it really depends on your skin, lifestyle and maintenance.
You must be 18 years of age or over. You must not be on medication for acne (Accutane). If you have previously taken Accutane you must have stopped taking this medication 12 months prior to a micro-blading session. Under no circumstances should you have this treatment if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, have type 1 or 2 diabetes/chemotherapy/radiation/cancer. If you have any allergies/disorders/disabilities, please let me know upon enquiry. I will not colour boost previous work by another technician. If you suffer from cold sores, medication prior to your treatment is advised to prevent an outbreak from occurring. Please contact me for more information.
The treatment can be slightly uncomfortable, but bearable. You may use your own numbing cream beforehand. Redheads, blondes and fair skin types may experience more swelling and redness than normal skin types. On a scale of 1-10, the pain level usually is around a 3 to 6. You may apply a thick layer of numbing cream on your lips 1-2 hours before your appointment time.
2-3 hours for the first session, and 1.5 hours for the retouch session.
Of course! However, you might experience more swelling during and after the procedure. Do not have any lip fillers 6 weeks prior and 6 weeks post lip blush. This could change the shape of your lips and affect the shape I have created for you. I will try my best to get them absolutely symmetrical but our faces are not 100% identical and I cannot work in the skin tissue around your lips, only on the lip tissue itself to create density and fullness. If I work over the lip area, you will have problems when it starts to fade. If you have migrated lip filler, please send me photos and I would advise having it dissolved before you see me so you can get a better lip blush result.
